This native rural Istrian stone house has been completely
and carefully restored, and is located in an attractive and entirely peaceful
location in the community of Marcana near Pula. A large estate measuring
34,000 m2, fields with medicinal herbs and forest surround the house. This
estate can be rightfully described as an empire of the senses, an oasis
of peace and tranquillity reminiscent of a magical fairytale. The sea in
Fazana, opposite the Brijuni Islands, is 10 km away, while Duga Uvala is
15 km away, in the other direction. Pula is 15 km away. Shops and restaurants
can be found within the center of Marcane. One does not need to leave the
estate in order to indulge in gourmet delights, as exquisite traditional
Istrian dished are offered on the estate. This rural homestead is open
all year round and is centrally heated to accommodate for the colder season.
It is above all intended to cater for houseguests only. A total of 26 guests
can be accommodated in spacious and stylishly decorated rooms. Rooms are
furnished with caringly restored, precious antiques, and are equipped with
telephone, internet connection and sat TV. A laptop computer and
video recorder can be obtained from your host. Breakfast or half
board can be directly arranged with the host. Shared areas available
to guests include a meal hall for up to 30 persons, a wine cellar for 20
people, a shaded terrace at ground level 30 persons and a covered terrace
on the 1st floor for up to 20 persons. Guests are also free to use a large
open swimming pool with deck chairs for sunbathing. A variety of active
recreational opportunities are offered to guests. Experienced riders can
go horse riding on the estate while a school of horse riding is available
for beginners on a nearby ranch, "Barba Tone".
Guests can also choose to partake in horseback trekking, quail and rabbit
hunting, several thematic trips on the mainland, sea or in the air, traditional
Istrian specialities cooking course, musical evenings, wine tasting at
selected Istrian wine cellars, traditional mowing of pastures and meadows,
construction of traditional Istrian stone walls, organized trips to beaches
that only the "locals" know of – beaches that are not to be found in tourist
guides. House pets are welcome.
